Citrobits has designed the RPC® Memory Controller IP interfaced with the  Etron Technology RPC DRAM® Component supporting many applications—particularly those requiring high-bandwidth external memory in compact, low-pin-count, low-power systems.

RPC® Memory Controller provides simplified user interface which supports data width of 64- and 128-bits and can handle up to 2 Ranks with a capacity of 512 Mb (2 x 256 Mb). The design has been implemented in Verilog HDL using Lattice Radiant™ software, a powerful optimization and analysis tool – chosen as the Engineering Development/ Design Tool of the year in 2023 at the Electronics Industry Awards.

Optimized for low-power, space-efficient Lattice CertusPro™-NX FPGAs, this IP core—powered by the Synplify Pro® synthesis tool within the Radiant software—delivers up to 7.3 Mb of on-chip memory, making it a perfect fit for high-performance machine vision, frame grabbers, and smart camera applications.

Thanks to its high performance, the RPC® Memory Controller IP serves as an efficient buffer for data-intensive tasks such as video processing, AI inference, and sensor data acquisition. This makes it a great choice for edge vision and AI devices, including smart industrial cameras for defect detection or barcode reading, gesture recognition systems, drones, AR/VR applications, and quality inspection cameras.
